Steve recorded many new songs and released them every Tuesday during the summer. Links were sent out fortnightly to all those on the mailing list. On the in-between weeks, an acoustic track was added to the acoustic songs page.

Many people emailed to say how much they enjoyed the songs and Steve was very grateful for all those who took the time to listen and to respond as well. Some of the Tunesday Tunes are still available on the new songs page.

After Mark left the band during June, Simon and Ben gave their notices of departure.

Band Gig: Wednesday 14th June 2006, The Chough (pub), Salisbury, UK

The Steve Porter Quest played their final gig as a four-piece.

Band Gig: Friday 2nd June 2006, Salisbury Arts Centre, UK

The Quest played what was to be their penultimate gig at the Salisbury Arts centre. Unfortunately, it was impossible to sound-check properly prior to the gig beginning due to other shows taking place in the venue. The performance commenced late in the evening with the sound rushed and the band tired.

Band Gig: Thursday 25th May 2006, The Cloisters (pub), Salisbury, UK

The Quest played an excellent gig at a very busy Cloisters pub in Salisbury. A good number of friends and friends of friends attended and the music seemed well received by the pubs usual clientele.

Winchester GateBand Gig: Saturday 6th May 2006, Winchester Gate (pub), Salisbury, UK

The Steve Porter Quest played another gig, trying more new material. Thanks to everyone who came along.

Duet Gig: Wednesday 22nd March 2006: Essex University Student Bar

Steve and Ben traveled to Essex University to perform an hour-long lunchtime spot in the level two bar area. The long journey was made easy thanks to Ben's satellite navigation system (!).

Band Gig: Saturday 18th March 2006: Winchester Gate (Pub)

Steve performed with "The Steve Porter Quest". The gig was tight, (quite) loud and worked perfectly with the audience so close and visible. Along with Steve singing and playing guitar, Ben Vuckovic played piano and sang, Mark Povey played bass and sang and Simon Lee played drums. Thanks to all the people who came and supported us. Here are some pictures of us setting up and sound checking:

Accompanying him on piano, guitar and vocals was Ben Vuckovic. They played songs from "Million Mile Ice Rink" and "A Sack Full Of Heartbreak Rocks", along with some new material. The gig was part of the Salisbury Arts Centre's LIVE LUNCH series, so the audience ate while they listened!

24th September 2005 Concert: A Success

The concert held to launch the new album: "Million Mile Ice Rink" at The Blackledge Theatre, Salisbury, was a great success.

The first half of the show featured tracks from the album: "A Sack Full of Heartbreak Rocks" performed by various people in an acoustic format. Ben Vuckovic sang "Stay" and "That's My Style". Cecilia le Poer Power sang "Shining Along" and "Like Magic". Lee Ingram sang "It's You" and "Is This What It Is To Be Alive?". And Emma Bugler sang "You Will" and "Go With The Flow".
